THE PROCEDURE:
A ball is held to a mechanical arm which rotates with a
constant angular velocity. After the arm swings around
for a short time, a razor is raised which cuts the string
that holds the ball to the swing arm. The ball is set
free from the arm. It proceeds to travel in a path
perpendicular to the arm at the point of detachment.
