THE PROCEDURE:
The yo-yo is a spool with a short axis around which a string
is wound. The string behaves just like an inclined
plane on which the spool rolls. Wind up the string,
hold the free end, and let the spool fall and the thread
unwind. The acceleration is less than that of free
fall and depends on the moment of inertia and the
torque. At end of the fall the string experiences a
sudden impulsive force and the yo-yo starts climbing.
