The double cone rolls up the ramp. Why? The center of mass of the object is changing it's position wrt the rails of the ramp. Thus the object is rolling up the ramp, but it's center of mass is rolling down an imaginary ramp in the other direction (i.e. As the rails diverge ==> Center of Mass actuarially descends). |
