This film introduces the concept of
velocity. A movable spot is established on the oscilloscope
screen of a computer. The computer measure the speed and
direction of motion of the spot as it moves on the screen
and then displays this information, also on the screen, in
the form of an arrow - the velocity vector of the spot. The
arrow continuously points in the direction of motion of the
spot, and its length is proportional to the speed of the
spot. Linear motion in several directions and at several
speeds is examined.
NOTE: This film should always be shown before any of the
others in the series.
