This film introduces the concept of acceleration. A spot is seen moving in an irregular, repeated path. Then the velocity vector of this spot is shown. Acceleration is introduced by noting that the head of the velocity vector also moves in its own irregular, repeated path. The computer is asked to perform the same operation on the tip of the velocity vector as it did on the original spot. In other words it determines the speed and direction of the head of the velocity vector and displays this also as an arrow - the acceleration of the original spot.
