THE PROCEDURE: Place a peg into the board so that when the pendulum hits the bottom of its path, the length of the pendulum is shortened. Mark the initial height of the pendulum with a peg. Release the pendulum. Mark the final height of its path with a different peg. Show that these two heights are the same regardless of the change in the length of the pendulum. Vary the position of the peg to show this to be true.
