THE PROCEDURE:

Place the ball at the top of the symmetric track.  Release the ball.  The ball travels along the track, coming to rest at a height equal to the initial height at which it was released. 

Place the ball at the top of the asymmetric track.  Release the ball.  Again, the ball comes to rest at a height equal to its initial position.
